According to the Israeli Prime Minister's press office, Russia's president has called Israeli Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett to apologise.
Sergey Lavrov said over the weekend that Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler had Jewish <x0-victual”. He made that comment in an effort to compare Hitler with Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, who is of Jewish descent.

“Zelensky uses this argument: what kind of Nazism they can have as a state when the leader is Jewish. I may be wrong, but Hitler also had Hebrew blood. That doesn't mean anything. The wise Jewish people say that the most intense anti - Semits are usually Jews”, Lavrov said.
Naphtalie Bennett's press office said Israel's prime minister accepted Putin's apology and thanked him for clarifying the issue. But Russia itself reports Putin and Bennett have discussed the Holocaust, but did not speak of an apology on Putin's part.
