Government gives green light to initiative for Kosovo's membership in Council of Europe

Human rights and elementary freedoms are guaranteed with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, which has also brought together conventions of the Council of Europe, including the General Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Elementary Freedoms and its Protocols.
The decision adopted today obliges the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspore Affairs to develop all membership procedures based on legislation in force.
