The Council of Europe is the oldest intergovernmental organisation in Europe that has the main goal of ensuring co-operation and unity among its members on the issue of protecting human rights, democracy and rule of law
Human rights and elementary freedoms are guaranteed with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, which has also brought together conventions of the Council of Europe, including the General Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Elementary Freedoms and its Protocols.
The decision adopted today obliges the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspore Affairs to develop all membership procedures based on legislation in force.
