During a telephone conversation with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Macron said France was willing to respond to additional requests for aid from Ukraine.
He also said Ukraine's application to the European Union would be considered by EU members at a summit in June, and reiterated an idea for creating a new “political community” outside the EU to make Ukraine's integration easier.
France last week supplied 13 vehicles for emergency services and has offered 800 tonnes of humanitarian aid since Russia began its invasion in Ukraine in late February.
