Finland, Sweden Wednesday submit NATO applications

“Democracy has won. This spring has been a triumph for democracy in Finland”, Niinsto said, referring to the overwhelming support this application received 17 May in parliament and support from the Finnish people, CNN reported.
While Andersson has said Sweden expects to co-operate with Turkey within NATO.
Her comment was addressed to the Turkish president's previous statement Monday that he would not approve the membership of Sweden and Finland in NATO over sanctions against Turkey and accused the two countries of hosting Kurdish terrorist organisations.
