The Kosovo delegation has consistently called on representatives of Serbia's institutions to share any information they may have in their archives, but also information already provided for this location, stressing that families continue to live with the pain and anxiety of waiting to know the fate and whereabouts of their violent loved ones during the war.
Excavations have begun as late last week, through the International Committee of the Red Cross, satellite images have been provided, which in the coming days will be analysed by experts, with the aim of identifying the possible location of the mass cemetery.
On the first day of the evaluation excavations, present at the location from Kosovo were representatives of the Government Commission for Missing Persons, experts from the Institute of Legal Medicine, representatives from the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as the Bureau for Missing Persons.
Kosovo forensic experts will continue to stay in the location to observe the works during the following period.
Kosovo's government remains committed to continuing the work by prioritising the lighting of fate and the whereabouts of the missing, the best legal and institutional treatment of their families, and establishing justice for crimes committed during the war in Kosovo, it is said in communiqué.
