A vote for Erem Arifi's government in the Kosovo Parliament had caused the government to collapse.

The Constitutional Court had asked Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani to announce new elections within 40 days after finding violations when the MP, who was sentenced to prison, had voted.

The motion was submitted to the Constitutional Court by 17 deputies of the Vetevendosje Movement on constitutionalisation of MP Etem Arifi's vote.

According to the Court's ruling, Arifi was sentenced by the Court of Appeals, to a year and three months in prison for misusing 27 thousand euros in subsidies to the Ministry of Labour and Social Management. Despite that sentence, on October 6th 2019, when early elections were held in Kosovo, he ran and was elected deputy of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.

The Democratic League of Kosovo established the new government after the collapse of the Kurti government with a no-confidence motion.
