The commanders of the units located at the Azovstal City steel plant have been ordered to save the lives of soldiers, the Ukraine General Staff statement also said.
Indrams of soldiers were evacuated Monday from the steel factory, the last shelter in a city that had become a symbol of Ukrainian resistance under the ruthless Russian bombings.
“53 heavily wounded soldiers were evacuated from Azovstal to a medical institution in Novoazovsk for medical care,” said Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar,
Other “211 people were sent to Olenivka through the humanitarian corridor”. “Ukraine needs Ukrainian heroes alive”, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday in a statement of evacuation, thanking the Ukrainian Army and negotiators, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations.
About 600 troops are thought to have been inside the steel factory.
