Zelensky: We don't have enough heavy guns to defeat Russia in Mariupol

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the country's forces do not have enough serious weapons to defeat the Russian Army in the town of Mariupol. He described two possible ways to end the city's impasse “first, it involves serious and heavy weapons [...] as we don't have enough of these weapons [...]

He described two possible ways to end the city's impasse

The first, it involves serious and heavy weapons [...] as soon as we don't have enough of these weapons to release Marioupolis. The second path is diplomatic. So far Russia has disagreed with this”.

We don't know when we can unlock Marioupolis. And I say this frankly, that all the boys in Mariupol want our victory, they want a free city, none of them will surrender to the enemy. That's their inner feeling, that's what they are”, he added.

Zelensky also said that several thousand Ukrainian civilians who fled the besieged city of Marioupolis through the evacuation corridors in occupied Russian territories are currently unknown.

“Thousands of civilians have successfully fled Marioupolis through the corridors agreed with Russia, but unfortunately several thousand civilians went to occupied Russian territories and we do not know the fate of these thousands of people”, he added.

“Ukrainian is ready for any forms of exchange of our people for Russian troops that left behind, troops and wounded that they abandoned here”, he said.

We remember that Russia has launched a new offensive to Ukraine these days, just after their biggest battleship, was hit by Ukrainian forces, to sink.

This is one of the biggest losses Russia has experienced so far./Periscopi/
