Former Kosovo President Atfiete Jahjaga at the Albright family invitation has attended the funeral of former Secretary of State Madeline Albright.

She has said she feels proud that in Washington's Cathedral, the bust and Secretary's visit to Kosovo in 2019, which were realised with her initiative to mark the 20th anniversary of Kosovo's liberation, witnessed this link between the people of Kosovo and Secretary Albright.

The “we honored it as it deserved, because Kosovo and its people will be eternally grateful for its” role, it has written, among other things.

Jahjages' total posting:

At the invitation of the Albright Family to Washington DC today among many leaders from around the world, we last bid farewell to US Secretary of State, a permanent friend of Kosovo, Madeleine K. Albright.

Its militant character and commitment to freedom, democracy and human rights made him a great leader, while her noble and human spirit also made him a great man.

I am proud that in the Washington Cathedral, bust and Secretary's visit to Kosovo in 2019, which came true with my initiative to mark the 20th anniversary of Kosovo's liberation, they witnessed this link between the people of Kosovo and Secretary Albright. We honored him as he deserved.

We honored her as she deserved, because Kosovo and its people will be eternally grateful for her role.

It is my greatest honor to have a dear friend, and to serve as Kosovo President (2011-2016), having her as one of my biggest supporters and inspiration to serve Kosovo, which will remain among its most valuable inheritances.

Rest in peace, my friend!
