European Commission President Ursula von der Leyeen, along with EU High Representative Josep Borrell, will travel to Kiev this week to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, following war crimes reports by Russian troops in Bucha.
European Union spokesman Eric Mamer confirmed the news through a Twitter announcement.
“President von der Leenen and High Representative Josep Borrell will visit Kiev this week to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky, ahead of Saturday's “Stand Up for Ukraine” in Warsaw”, Mamer wrote on Twitter.
The news comes after talks held between European Commission President and Zelensky, in which they spoke of crimes allegedly occurring in Bucha, Ukraine. In a statement issued Monday, the presidents also discussed mass graves allegedly discovered.
“I have spoken with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about the terrible murders that have been discovered in Bucha and other areas from which Russian troops have recently left”, von der Leyen said in the statement.
