Ukrainian troops have withdrawn from the city after three days of fighting, said the governor of the Luhansk region, Serhiy Gaidai.
“Kremine is under Russian control. They've entered the city. Our defenders were forced to withdraw”, he said.
If this is confirmed, Kreminna would become the first city to fall after Russia's new offensive in eastern Ukraine.
Furthermore, he said it is impossible to count civilians killed
“We have official numbers and said about 200 civilians killed, but the number could be much larger”, the governor added.
