Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Svecla, reporting to the Security Commission, has said he will leave stones unimpeded for Kosovo citizens to enjoy freedom of movement.
Speaking of visits to various states, Svecla said Kosovo has met all necessary criteria for visa liberalisation.
I've completed 1 number of visits, mostly divided into 2 categories. Multilateral co-operation under different EU initiatives, both of the regions and of thematic visits. There is already a public position that Kosovo has met the necessary criteria to gain the right to free movement. We, for more than that, have made visits and meetings with states that have been regarded as skeptical or appreciated as countries that can positively influence. My approach has been this, to go through all the requirements of the EU once more, to go through all the demands of individual states, and then these requirements along with our commitment and our successes to confront the responsibilities”.
I met with my counterpart and there is a mutual agreement, but their direct assessment that we have great successes in this area and technical criteria have been met. This is a question of political decision-making, issues and reports of different countries that have so far been obstacles. Soon I expect fair decision-making on this matter. We will carry out additional meetings and visits in order to do whatever is possible, as the people say, we will leave no stone without moving this right of citizens to realise”, he said.
