If there isn't any action on the part of Kurti Government to Thursday, we'll start the strike. So warns the head of the United Education, Science and Culture Union (SBASHK), Nundman Jasharaj. The SBASK had warned strikes in all educational institutions after April 20th. But such a thing [...]
The SBASK had warned strikes in all educational institutions after April 20th. But such a thing is not happening because Kurti, according to Jasaw, has invited BSPK leader and SBASK deputy chairman to the meeting last Saturday.
Jasharaj has detailed this meeting.
“From what we know, last Saturday of the week BSPK chairman along with the SBASK deputy chairman has had a meeting with Prime Minister Kurti where issues have been debated, and Prime Minister Kurti, on the basis of what was reported to us last Thursday by these two representatives, has said that the requirements are in different addresses and he has requested a deadline to co-operate, to consult with the ministers, prove by”, he said.
This week there will be concrete meetings and content efforts to resolve which issues can be resolved, Jasharaj said.
The main requirement of the SBASK is that until the implementation of the wage law, the teachers will be given from an additional 100 euros a month. On the contrary, Jasharaj indicated they would begin with what he calls escalating actions.
“E what I can say right now, it's only about SBASK, because I can't influence other unions on Thursday if we don't have a concrete report on how the meeting was developed, that there are concrete things that are in an attempt to do then after Thursday, or I'm going to call the SBASK Steering Council on Thursday, we're going to report that even after all these expectations, or there are no results that remain to assess them on their own, if they continue and there are no concrete results, no concrete promises, no concrete promises, then Thursday, or BSP meeting after Thursday or Friday, if there's no concrete action remains, and the Council is going to say, the timeliners will say they'll have a specific agenda.
But what are those escalating actions?
“From the communication we have with the mayors to start with the union actions we call escalation, first go with a strike lesson clock, then 2 hours then three days to go to the last warning one day strike on the entire educational system and if even then there is nothing concrete then the general strike date from which the strike only happens when the terms of” are met, the SBOK chief warned.
He also commented on sharing the government's 100-euro extensions.
This split 100 euros has been given to all those who know they need it, but the education system is also needed in the coming months that would make it easier for us to wait for the wage law to consult trade unions to work without error and go to procedures that should be”, Jasharaj said.
The head of the SBASK has stated that they are willing to work with the Government, or the Ministry of Education, for finding a solution. According to him, if the Government wants to support the education system by 100 euros, they will be able to wait longer until finding a final solution.
Meanwhile, Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation ( MAKT), Arberie Nagavci had declared it is not time for strikes that have been warned by the SBASAK. According to her, the Kosovo government is working hard and strikes and protests are unnecessary due to student learning losses.
