Stoltenberg: We welcome Finland, Sweden to NATO

“Of course, it is up to Sweden and Finland to decide whether to apply for NATO membership. But if they decide to apply, Sweden and Finland would be welcomed with open arms to NATO. They are our close partners”, Stoltenberg said.
Metsola, on the other hand, spoke of imposing new sanctions on Russia, where she said the EU would continue its efforts for more effective sanctions as she reiterated the position that Ukraine has the right to defend itself.
