Kosovo police have announced on Tuesday, April 26th that in the early hours of the morning, a border patrol unit at Zubin Potok was attacked by fire.
In addition to the material damage to the vehicle, it says, there are no reports of injured police officials.
The municipalities in northern Kosovo, such as northern Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Zvecan and Leposaviq, are inhabited by Serb majority.
Police spokesman for the northern region, Branislav Radovic, has told Radio Free Europe that the attack has occurred on the main road in the village of Zupce, in the vicinity of the children's garden and allegedly that the official border police vehicle has been shot by firearms.
At 11:28, the Legal Forenzice Unit from Pristina, as well as the Unit for Terrorism, have inspected the country in the village of Zupce, Radovic has confirmed.
Zubin Potok police patrol is working on regulating normalisation of communications on the main road. Units from Pristina have withdrawn from the scene around 12:30.
The Serb list, the Serb community's main party in Kosovo, has condemned the incident.
This incident is aimed at destabilising the situation, but also trying to present Serbs as bandits, which is not true”, the Serbian List communiqué says.
The Serbian list urged “of all citizens to refrain from falling prey to provocations and prevent such incidents from endangering the much needed peace in this area. ”
