Some dead chickens have been found on the coast of the sea in the area of the Dead Ranch in Strygin. After the publication of media images, Lezha veterinarians arrived.
Veterinary responsible, Deda Rama has reacted to dead birds that were found today on the Schengen coast.
He said an alarming situation was created at first as if the coastline was filled with dead chickens, while we experts found only four chickens in the field that had no connection with the territory of Lezha district, nor with Lezha farms, according to Deda Rama.
We developed an alarming state as if the coastline was filled with dead chickens, while we on the ground saw nothing else, only four chickens that have nothing to do with the Lezha district's territorial district, especially Lezha farms. Since the birds were decomposing, we and the office specialist took steps”, Rama said.
Meanwhile, Lek Prendi, a specialist with the Veterinary Office in Lezha, said that at the point where dead chickens were ascertained there is no residential centre, no home and no farm that grows birds.
He said that the site where dead chickens were found was disinfected and that in the following days the respective organs would emerge with concrete findings for dead chickens.
To verify whether they died of bird flu, these chickens will be sent to the Institute of Food Safety and Veterinary Security in Tirana.
As for the discovery of people who dropped dead birds, Lezha Veterinary Bureau specialist Lek Prendi says they'll start investigating.
“At the point where dead chickens were ascertained there is no residential centre, no farm that grows birds.
The dead chickens are on the shore of the Sea of Rana and cast, in the west end of Lezha, the town of Shengin that divides the border with Shkodra.
In all the dead chickens that were number five, they were registered, taken, and put in place to be destroyed. The site where dead chickens were found became the country's disinfectation.
We confirm that the area is clear today. In the coming days we will come up with concrete results”, Lek Prendi said.
To date, no bird flu cases have been officially confirmed in the Lezha County. /abcnews.al/
