Serwer says Washington won't let Kurt visit the US because of dialogue

Knowing the circumstances of the Western Balkans, Daniel Serwer, until he has reacted to the description that US Senator Chris Murphy has made to his meetings in the Western Balkans, has said that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti was not allowed an official visit to Washington because of his non-progress in dialogue.

Serwer has criticised Senator Murphy for dealing with Prime Minister Kurti, as well as Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, where he says he had more meetings with the US representative.

The root of this society is clear to the senator's confession: He often dines with Murphy when the President is in Washington. It would be difficult for Murphy to have the same relations with Kosovo Prime Minister Kurti, who is the functional equivalent of Vuciqi in Kosovo. Kurti has not been allowed an official visit to Washington since taking office. This is because Washington blames him for the lack of progress in dialogue with Belgrade”, American professor wrote

“Senator seems to agree with this characterization. I disagree. The only obstacle to achieving what the senator identifies as the main objective of dialogue -- mutual recognition by the two sovereign and independent states -- is Serbia's refusal to review the proposal. Dialogue would simply be a normal conversation between neighbors, in addition to this”, his writing continues.

“There is no sign in the senator's confession of his visit to Belgrade that he advised Vucinjak of his territorial ambitions in Kosovo or his support for the Bosnian division by Milorad Dodik I hope that when he assembles his task force in Congress”, Serwer has said among other things. /Periscopi/
