Sadiku said that Kurti Government has no reason to fear entering this dialogue.
Sadiku said Prime Minister Kurti should be better positioned over Serbia, having the support of international allies as well.
Even this government, like other governments, has no reason to fear entry into dialogue with Serbia, since as you know, Kosovo has had problems both in the northern part of it and there with dialogue with Serbia and being mediated by the US and the EU has been managed to have it “status Quo” changed and parallel structures gradually entered into Kosovo institutions. Therefore it is time for Kurti to be better positioned towards Serbia by having support from Kosovo's friends and allies, such as the US, Germany and several other powerful countries in the European Union”, Sadiku said in Tv1,
He added that it is the right time to start dialogue, especially now after the agreement for car plates expired and after failing to hold Serbia's elections on Kosovo territory.
“It is time to start the Kosovo dialogue, Serbia, especially after the deadline of the agreement that has been for car plates, and primarily other issues related to dialogue, the role of Kosovo that may be for application to international organisations such as the Council of Europe, is, NATO and several other organisations”, Sadiku said on the blog show in Tv1.
Meanwhile, speaking of the state leaders' meetings with the ambassadors of the Quint countries and the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Karen Donfreed and US envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar, Sadiku said there may be pressure on certain issues.
“The message for Kosovo will be to further continue the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, and especially to find a modulation for implementation of the agreement for the plates, and primarily some form of debate will be the last Serbian elections that are not allowed to be held in Kosovo, and I will certainly reason on that, the Kurti government but will also have pressure from Americans and the international community regarding this”.
