For the first time since the beginning of the war, the Russian government has been speaking publicly about high casualties figures. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia is facing tragedy because many Russian soldiers have been killed.
We have serious losses from the aggressor. We've got a lot of soldiers killed, wounded and captured, who are a great tragedy for us, say Peskov.
On March 25th, the Russian Defence Ministry reported that 1,351 of its soldiers had died since the beginning of the war, while Ukraine said they killed 19 thousand Russian soldiers.
Peskov said he hopes the war will be decided in the coming days.
“I hope to achieve the objectives of its conquest or <x1) Special Military Framework” in the following days” said the Kremlin spokesman. /
