Russian troops have kidnapped a local official who was headed towards humanitarian convoy south of the Kherson region, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister has announced. Iryna Verschuk claims the Kremlin troops offered the release of the local Ukrainian official in exchange for Russian war prisoners, but according to her was unacceptable.
She also stressed that efforts to open three humanitarian corridors in the Kherson region failed last night, as Russian forces failed to abide by the ceasefire. Kherson was one of the largest cities that first fell into the hands of the Russians, but in recent weeks Ukrainians claim to have restored control of this city.
