Obstetrics Clinic Director Jakup Ismajli has said that during these first three months of 2022, 2 thousand and 125 babies have been born, of which 11 of the mothers of non - adulthood. During 2021, however, there were 26 births from mothers under the age of 18.
Not often the issue of sexual education has been raised as a subject that would have to be included in schools. But, so far the Ministry of Education has not included this subject, nor does it plan it. One of the reasons has been that sexual education is learned in some of the current subjects, including in “
Education, Science, Technology and innovations Minister Ilirjana Pylla for the Rtv21.tv portal said lessons about sexual education are distributed in three subjects and that students, according to them, get enough information about sexual education.
“THE university, based on the new strategy, which is on the map, is not planning to introduce Sex Education as special. In practical terms, however, sexual education is inflated as a subject in such subjects as Biology, Civil Education, and Physical Education. So there are lessons about sexual education, body and gender in current textbooks, but they are distributed in different subjects, and students get enough information about sexual education”, Pylla said, adding that manuals are being drawn up and done specifically in prevention and education through certain activities, including material drafting, in collaboration with other institutions and organisations working in the field of promotion and health education.
On the other hand, Youth Qehaja expert education field for Rtv21.tv portal said that civic competence part of the Kurdish framework envisions the competencies that, if well implemented, would have to promote learning programmes that would make young people better known even for sexual education.
Any other changes to the curriculum require broader debate and analysis of capacities for implementation”, Qehaja said.
