Pelosi took the test for Cove and proved positive, currently no symptoms, her spokesman Drew Hammil wrote on her Twitter network Thursday. He said it had resulted negative when he took a test at the beginning of the week.
The mayor is completely vaccinated and received a strengthening dose. She is grateful for the powerful protection that the vaccine has offered him”, spokesman Hammil said. Mrs. Pelosi “will stay in quarantine in line with CDC guidelines and encourages all to be vaccinated, receive strengthening doses and regularly tested”.
The White House said President Biden and Mrs. Pelosi had only “short interactions over the last two days” and that the president was not considered a close contact based on CDC guidelines, for a distance of nearly two meters between individuals and a length of meeting longer than 15 minutes over a 24-hour period.
“Mbrem, as part of its regular testing routine, the president resulted in negative”, the White House said through a statement. “It will continue to be tested regularly. The president congratulates Mrs. Pelosi on the rapid recovery”.
Meanwhile, the planned trip to Asia of a delegation of Congress that the 82-year-old Democrat would lead has been postponed.
CDC says inoculate totally against COVID-19 and who have received a strengthening dose are far less likely to have serious symptoms or die.
