Health Minister Rifat Latifi has met today with Israel's first ambassador to Kosovo, Tami Ziv, with whom they have talked about co-operation between the two countries in the health sector.
In a media communiqué, it becomes known that Minister Latifi said he is honoured for his ambassador's visit -- the first of this level in Kosovo, especially considering that Israel has an extremely developed health system from which much can be learned.
Latifi cited the seven pillars of his programme for transforming Kosovo's health, suggesting that health is a priority for the Government of Kosovo.
According to the communiqué, he has also highlighted the need for the creation of Excellence Centres, and at this point the Trauma Centre, which is very necessary for the Kosovo health system. Co-operation at this point, he praised, is very useful since Israel has the most advanced centre in the world.
Latifi and Ziv agreed that one of the other potential areas of co-operation is also digitalisation of the Kosovo health system.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of training Kosovo health staff by Israeli health experts, in those profiles lacking expertise.
Meanwhile, it becomes known that Israeli Ambassador Tami Ziv has said that her state is ready to co-operate and help Kosovo in various ways to improve health care services and advance specific areas, and to that end, she announced that it has already started preparations for organising Latif's visit to Israel this year.
