In fact, the AKK has announced it will only deal with cases of interest in which senior public officials may be involved.
The AKK has said that during yesterday, from media monitoring, there have been allegations that there have been irregularities in the latest recruiting process in the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK).
The AKK, too, has said it has accepted calls and interests of various individuals regarding the role the AKK may have in dealing with these claims.
Consequently, on this subject, AKK, announce that:
Developing administrative investigative procedures in the AKK can also be initiated according to official duty, requests and denouncing by parties of interest - even in cases where the AKK is informed by the media.
Developing administrative investigative procedures ceases in cases where criminal investigations are conducted on the same topic by Kosovo Police or Prosecutors.
The AKK is a competent institution for dealing with cases of alleged conflict in interest under law No. 06/L-011.
By April 05th 2022, Pristina's key prosecutor, through public announcement, has confirmed that this prosecutor has initiated investigations into the same case.
Consequently, the AKK cannot undertake administrative investigative procedures that, in the same case, are initiated by the prosecution.
As to claims of potential conflicts of interest in this process, The AKK has started collecting and handling relevant information, including contact with the responsible authority for preventing interest within KEK. The procedure for considering conflict of interest is confidential. /Periscopi/
