The eastern code of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering has been greened on Friday, on Earth Day. There, KEDS planted 20 trees, as many as are students of KEDS Academy's ninth generation. Trees were planted by Academy students themselves. Those in the planted trees also decided on a personal message, such as awareness of nature's protection.
Participants in planting trees were also the Dean of the Faculty of Electric and Computer Engineering, Isak Shabani, and Professor Avni Alidaj from KEDS.
Dean Shaban said that today when a significant global day is being marked, they are accepting this donation of 20 trees, which are personal for 20 students who are part of KEDS Academy.
We hope to continue in the future with these co-operations. Today is a very important global day. Earth Day. We take it all from the earth and what's most important is that we have a good air. Today, KEDS Academy received 20 trees as a donation. We just started and planted the first tree. This is also done in symbolic of our students in KEDS Academy for the next nine years. In the last year of this academy, 20 of our students have been prepared, who have even started work”, he stressed.
Professor Alidemay, adviser to KEDS, also said that with the planting of these 20 trees, KEDS students are also showing their commitment to nature.
Until today we mark Earth Day, we remember that our responsibility is outside our homes until we are willing to give our commitment to a greener land and cleaner air. We, today, turn this into works where 20 trees planted have the symbol of 20 students from the last generation of KEDS Academy. Once we promote these same and hope that other students follow their path. Though symbolic of these trees, after himself carries a powerful message that only by thinking about the future can we build today. So each of us with a job as small as possible can contribute to a cleaner, greener, and better“, Alidaj said.
One of the students who is part of KEDS Academy, Alma Dobratiqi, said that today's activity affects clean environment.
According to her, KEDS Academy is a good opportunity for professional development.
Today we mark Earth Day where the Technical Faculty, along with the KEDS Academy programme, is developing this activity for mother nature. My message to this day is that he plants a tree, sows hope. It's all going really well, but we've completed the lectures and training we've done last month. Now we're in the intersensive stage where we're visiting all departments, performing in rotation. This programme is very good for all students because it helps develop professionalally”, she said.
KEDS has repeatedly planted trees for Earth Day at various educational institutions throughout Kosovo.
