Hoti: 100 euros do not solve price hikes, long-term measures must be taken

According to him, no matter how beneficial the price problem may seem to be, nor does it involve farmers and unemployed.
Today's “decision reflects the poverty of government fiscal and social policies to protect the standard of family life. This once-in-a-day assistance of 100 euros, however helpful, does not solve the problem of rising prices. Moreover, this assistance did not include thousands of unemployed people and those involved in agriculture”, he said.
According to him, long-term measures should be taken, which he said were proposed when the crisis began to emerge.
He has mentioned five measures, including attracting a lot of retirement savings.
“1. The price of energy didn't have to go up. 2. The pension and social benefits of the price inflation rate of basic food products must be indexed. 3. Farm subsidies should be increased. 4. The minimum wage has to be raised. 5. It should be considered attracting a lot of retirement savings”, Hoti added.
The Kosovo government, today, has made a decision to allocate an additional 100 euros to all retirees for the month of April, basic pension, contributing pension, pension for limited capacity, veteran pension. 100 euros for 300 thousand private sector workers. 100 euros for 80 thousand public sector workers. 100 euros for 80 thousand students. Forty thousand food packages for needy families. About 800 thousand citizens benefit each family. / P ERISCOPI/
