The career diplomat spoke of his priorities in Serbia, US-Serbia relations and the war in Ukraine.
Ambassador Hill said he is trying to understand what is really happening in Serbia today.
Serbia is a different state than what it was, some priorities have changed. But what I do know is that people here are focused on the future, just like I am”, Hill said.
Asked whether US-Serbia relations will continue to develop in the right direction, Hill said the two states have common interests and two states like the US elite basketball league.
For example, the two states love the NBA. The full potential of relations still has room for fulfillment, so I think we can work together in this”, the American ambassador said.
Ambassador Hill said the crisis in Ukraine is the deepest in Europe it has not seen in years.
Whatever we've seen in Ukraine every day is terrifying, suffering civilians, destroying important historical cities. Of course I'm sure where this will lead, but I'm sure we live in another world with what was before February 24,”, Hill said.
