He also said Ukraine needs hope and confidence from the EU, saying that Eastern Europe is not an annex, but belongs to Europe.

Roth, who is currently chairman of the Commission for Foreign Affairs, has consistently talked about Kosovo's interests while in the minister's position, while the visa liberalisation issue has often been mentioned in his speeches.
