The German emissary for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin, said that, as far as Germany is concerned, all visa criteria are met by Kosovo.
Sarrazin said that so far there has been no joint meeting with the other three emissaries -- American man Gabriel Escobar, British Stuart Peach and EU Emisrain Miroslav Lajcak.
I've had phone conversations with Mr. Miroslav Lajcak, and the other colleague has invited me to visit London, and I will also go to Washington as soon as possible to be in touch and co-operate”, Sarazin said.
“As I know so far, a joint meeting has not been planned, but to see what will be collected”, the German emissary told RTK.
Manuel Sarrazin has taken this post, in the middle of February, which has not existed in previous German governments.
However, he said Kosovo has also been the subject of the newly created coalition in Germany, and we support visa liberalisation for Kosovo and Germany has a clear stance on the issue.
“As far as Germany is concerned, all the criteria for visas, Kosovo has fulfilled them, while in France, I cannot give any interpretation on their behalf”, he said.
As for dialogue, Sarazin said it is very important to have a successful dialogue process.
Asked whether now is the right time for membership application to the Council of Europe, the German special envoy for the Western Balkans says the application for successful results would not be good for Kosovo.
“Anyway, by Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe, it would be beneficial the country as a whole, but citizens, including minorities”.
Sarrazin said there is currently no agreement on a permanent solution to the vehicle plates between Kosovo and Serbia.
The German diplomat also voiced his doubts about Kosovo's warnings of application for membership in the European Union.
“As far as Kosovo's application for EU membership is concerned, it should be reminded that there are five member states that still do not recognise independence”, Sarrazzin said.
