Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview for CNN that he was almost speechless by a shocking video of a mother identifying her son's body.

During the interview, which was aired on Sunday, CNN reporter Jake Tapper released a video of a Ukrainian woman burst into tears after seeing her son's body in a well, Telegrafi conveys.

How is it for you, as president of this country, to watch those videos hear the cries of mothers?

This is the most terrible thing I've seen in my life”, Zelensky replied. I see this first of all as a father. It's a tragedy. It's suffering. I can't imagine the degree of suffering these people, of this woman. It's a family tragedy. It's a disaster. It's the dreams and the life you've just lost. We live for our children, that's true. The kids are the best God has given us.

However, Zelensky told CNN he thinks he should separate his government's role from his personal life while watching videos like this.

It's a great pain for me. I can't see him as a father, because all you want after this is revenge and killing. I should see it as the president of the state where many people have died and lost their loved ones”, he said, stressing that it should promote peace to end suffering.

We all have to do everything we can to make war not endless. The longer it is, the more we lose. All these losses will be the same as that”.
