Energy, following 400kw line between Kosovo and Albania, another joint investment is being studied

But it appears another investment in terms of strengthening the two countries' bond is being analysed by the authorities. Energy Regulatory Ent (ERE) bleached in its report that there is a project to build a new 110kV airline between Albania and Kosovo
“Taking into account the high hydrick generation potential, but other renewable resources that are expected to be realised and connected to the transmission network in the country's northeastern area, are being studied access to a 110-kV interconction line, in ring form, from this area of Albania. [ Footnote] (N/station Bajram Curri and N/station Kukes) towards areas of high consumption in Kosovo, such as Decani, Dragashi, Prizren etc.”, the Monitor reported. al
According to authorities in this way, the fact of diversification of energy production will be used when it is known that Kosovo is based on airline production.
“Potentially, this will bring possible reductions in production costs from the two countries' generators and the purchase of losses from low-cost transmission system operators. Diversification will enable better management of auxiliary services, better balancing the system because of the imbalances that may result from increased renewable resources.
This project will also increase the security and quality of electricity supply for consumers, but at the same time will have a positive impact and for generators, improving tension levels” reported in the report.
The existing 400 kilovolt line started in the Albanian part in 2014 with a support of the German bank KfW. The completion of the line took place in 2016 was being put into place for a long time because of the conflict between Serbia and Kosovo. After dividing Kosovo's transmission from that of Serbia, the line could become operational in 2020. The cost of the line is estimated at 70m euros.
