The shadowed military company that has been linked to a series of murders, violations and war crimes around the world is known as Putin's private army, which does its most dirty jobs as a protracted hand of state.

Photos taken yesterday show signs of the paramilitary group who were present in the civil wars in Africa.

The soldier is seen carrying an automatic AK-15 used by Russian special forces in front of a Donnetsk hotel, which serves as the Office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe by the United Nations.

Pro-Kremlin correspondent Seyon Pevov took the picture of the group known to be present in Ukraine, but so far their photos have not been taken since the invasion.

Philip Ingra, a former official from British intelligence, told The Times: “Russian GRU uses the Wagner group as troops for difficult operations.

The fact that they're using an AK-15, the new Spetsnaz automatic weapon, is a clear sign that they're contracted and that they're under the command of Russia's Special Forces”.

The Wagner group is believed to be tasked with killing Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials, including the Klitschko brothers, and reports that their motto is: “Death is our job and work is good”.

The group of mercenaries, considered to be under Putin's orders, is among those sanctioned by Great Britain.
