Dick Marty vs. Switzerland, s'neer the police at home, wants an explanation from his country.

Former Swiss Senator Dick Marty, since last year, has entered a strict security measure after a serious threat to his life. At present he has decided to speak openly and point his finger at Serbs to expose those who are accusing them as authors of plotting to leave [...]

Former European Council reporter has recently reported Swiss media, who are called into the Swiss secret service, that Serbian intelligence has planned Marty's murder to blame Kosovo later. Marty's 2010 report, which accused the Kosovo Liberation Army of war crimes, led to the establishment of the Special Court and the deployment of the accused of leaders of the former Kosovo guerrilla.

The Swiss Federal Police Office, in a response to Gazeta Express, has confirmed that since December 2020 it has been a serious threat to Dick Marty. And for that reason, Swiss police have since committed themselves to keeping Marty away from the bomber's target.

In addition to aspects of criminal law, the issue in particular involves ensuring personal security and also has political components due to the supposed transnational context. Therefore, various federal and cantonal authorities are involved in their respective areas of responsibility. The Swiss Attorney General's Office, Fedpol and other partner authorities have taken comprehensive measures in this context”, said in response.

To ensure security, Swiss federal police say they took broad safeguards based on a regular assessment of the situation, including security in Marty's immediate environment (that includes so-called narrow protection during public space presentations or technical safety measures, for example in the settlement).

These safeguard clauses have been implemented in co-operation with the cantonal police. Security and Protection measures are still being implemented, so they're not unnecessaryly violating their effectiveness.

Marty's not happy with the work of the Swiss authorities, however, because he wants his fear to end.

The Federal Council has twice intervened in my case; the lack of a strategy to neutralise the threat against me is for political reasons, considered more important than rule of law. The official Bernie doesn't want to have problems with anyone, but in reality he's always been a bit like that. I'm sorry that none of the politicians responsible for these decisions wanted to give me an explanation”, Marty said in an interview for a Swiss radio.

Marty said that for the sake of respect for federal judicial authority, he kept silent about it, but that he became overpressed on my family and especially on his grandchildren.

With this gesture I want to expose even criminal design that would otherwise have enjoyed silence, the ability to move into the shadows and create amazement. We shouldn't be afraid of the noise of the bad, but by the silence of the righteous”, Marty said.

Marty is also blaming the Serbs for orchestrating a hater against him, until he denied he was involved in the arrest of former President Hashim Thaci.

For some reason, the Albanian press began targeting me, as well as addressing hate words even in parliament, despite my having had nothing to do with the arrest of President Hashim Thaci. However, it was later found to be an operation orchestrated by elements of Serb extremist groups within the secret service that wanted to blame Kosovo for the assassination against me”.

Marty, in one of his interviews, said it was surprising to him that the threat did not come from those “I accused, but came from their opponents”.
