The newspaper Insander, finds that today you expected 26 police officers to be arrested in the “Pika 2” action. The inspector has also announced that the action is being carried out for criminal acts to bribe and misuse of official duty.
Kosovo Police Inspectorate, respectively, employees from all of its operational departments in full co-ordination with the Special Prosecutor have launched a broad operation in the framework of IPK's authorisations and legal scopes today.
Today's operation (detected under the name “Pika 2”) has preceded an investigation about a year with suspicion of involvement in illegal activities of a number of police officials related to criminal acts “bribe taking” and “the mismanagement of official position or authority”.
This investigation is under way in full co-ordination and leadership by the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK), including secret investigation measures.
The investigation also includes co-operation with prosecutors from the SPAK (The Special Anti-corruption and Organised Crime Planner of the Republic of Albania) and AMP officials the Police Supervisory Agency (PAK counterpart agency in Albania).
The IPK will continue to remain committed to the enterprise of actions aimed at empowering police integrity.
