What are the chances that Putin uses nuclear weapons? Speak to American officials

The US news network CNN has published a report quoting American officials about the chances of a nuclear transition to the conflict in Ukraine, writes Sky News, reports Periscope.

Earlier this week it was reported that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that only conventional weapons -- assessment can be used as guarantees or alarm -- depending on how it is read.

CNN's report claims that US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin is informed two to three times during the week by senior US generals who overlock US nuclear weapons.

It says the US has not seen signs that Russia has made moves to alert nuclear weapons for use -- but that officials are <x0 most concerned about the risk of using nuclear weapons from Russia at any time since the Cold War”.

One source has stressed that Putin's chances of using nuclear weapons are very small -- according to them at 1%.
