The British government announced it has removed tariffs for all goods from Ukraine, while setting a ban on exporting products and technology to Russia that could be used in war.
The move came in response to a direct request by Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky to support the Ukrainian economy, UK Secretary of International Trade Anne-Marie Trevelyan, writes BBC, broadcast Klankosova.tv, said in a statement.
The UK had lowered all tariffs for goods from Ukraine, including Ukraine's main exports such as barley, honey, canned tomatoes and birds, Trevelyan said.
“We stand firm with Ukraine in this ongoing war and will work to ensure Ukraine survives and thrives as a free and sovereign nation”, it said in a statement.
The UK also announced a ban on export of products and technology to Russia. Target products may include surveillance and monitoring devices and “will close any existing gaps to ensure that Russia is not buying these goods from MB”.
