Border police have banned two vehicles in the village of Leskovica of the municipality of the Year, where various tools and technical work equipment have been found during the search, allegedly smuggled goods, had been introduced into the territory of the Republic of Kosovo from the Republic of Northern Macedonia through illegal routes.
According to police, the Task Force unit and patrol units of the Gnjilane border surveillance police station have intensified tactical and operational control in the field in the process of measures to prevent and combat lawlessness and smuggling.
“As a result, with the date 16,04,2022, in the evening hours, based on the risk analysis and intelligent information from border police units has been able to identify two vehicles: one Furgon type and the other, a nation type vehicle, both white and local license plates. After attempting to evade police ban, police authorities have managed to stop vehicles in the village of Leskovica, the municipality of Year (about 300m near the border with the Republic of Macedonia north. Various goods (various tools and technical work equipment, etc). The smuggled goods were allegedly introduced into the territory of the Republic of Kosovo by the Republic of Northern Macedonia through illegal routes. In co-operation with the relevant prosecution following preliminary investigations, a suspected person has been sent to police detention, while confiscated goods are handed over to Kosovo Customs for further procedures”, it is said at the poll.
