Martin Berishaj, whose name in recent hours is being talked about involvement in the mega-related financial scandal, has many citizenship.
When Mr Berishaj was bending his name for Kosovo's ambassador, he was not Kosovo. It was in Montenegrin citizenship.
The media democracy.com has published Martin Berishaj's request for Kosovo citizenship for President Vjosa Osmani. This requirement dates back to January 7, 2021.
In May 2021, with the recommendation of the Kurti Government, a few weeks after being voted president, Vjosa Osmani returned 12 ambassadors appointed according to “political examiners”, whose decision was one of the biggest precedents in Kosovo diplomacy.
However, shortly before it was signed the decisions on the return of political ambassadors, Osman had granted citizenship by presidential decree to Martin Berisha, who was only known to be appointed ambassador, though it argued there was no Kosovo citizenship.
Democracy has secured the decree of President Osmani, with which Slovenian citizens Martin Berishaj, on April 14th 2021 had been granted Kosovo's citizenship for “scientific issue”, because shortly thereafter it would be nominated as Kosovo's ambassador to Croatia.
