Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs in Albania Olta Xhacka has stressed that recognition and liberalisation of Kosovo's visas remain the priority of the Albanian government.
The Albanian chief diplomat issued this statement during the works of the Socialist Party Congress.
“Kosovo is an issue that raises it at every bilate meeting to lobby for its recognition and support or for recognition and accession to international organisations”, the Albanian official said initially.
According to her, Kosovo remains an issue that has also been raised in the European Union “denouncing the injustice done to Kosovo today by isolating it in the middle of Europe without keeping its promise of visa liberalisation”.
Kosovo is always there and always before each decision is asked how this will affect Kosovo”, Gacka added.
The panel on region, Europe and Security is continuing in the lobby of the Convention Palace.
Participants are political representatives of the region, who have been invited by the SP.
The lecturers are Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs in Albania Olta Xhacka and Defence Minister Niko Peleshi.
Next, the minister clarified that Kosovo is a priority issue even in Albania's work on the Security Council.
“We are working hard not only on reducing UNMIK reports on the Council, but also to expand relations with those countries, such as in Africa”, the minister went on.
Turning to the Balkan Open initiative, the minister said that “Kosovo for us is holy”.
The truth is very simple and has two sides”, Gacka said.
According to the official, this initiative accelerates the projected processes in the Berlin Process.
The solution, she added, is due to co-operation and integration, as this is the strategic dimension of this initiative.
