The Kosovo Journalists' Association has reacted sharply to the conduct of Minister of Internal Affairs Jalal Svecla to Periscope journalist Beserta Hoti, who, while asking him a question in public interest, gave him back his bullshit.
AGK estimates that such language promotes lynching to journalists, while their right is to raise questions at any conference.
Here's the AGK's full reaction:
AGK condemns minister Svecla's behaviour to journalist Besarat Hoti
Interior Minister Jedal Svecla at a press conference today has called “bullshit” the questions of journalist Besara Hoti, online portal “Periscope”. Minister Svechla's behaviour is unprofessional for the position he holds, and it also has sexist concessions. Reporter Hoti has asked the minister for his sister's employment at the Ministry of Agriculture in the Government of Kosovo at a press conference.
The minister's behaviour has prompted a series of online lynching reactions that have targeted the journalist. The AGK considers journalists free to ask any kind of questions in public interest, despite the conference's central theme. Moreover, MPBs like other government ministries do not answer most of the time in media questions.
