From 4am on February 24, 2022, when the Russian Federation's armed attack on Ukraine began until 00 o'clock the midnight of April 2, 2022 (local time), the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Office (OHCHR) registered three thousand and 455 civilian victims in Ukraine: A thousand and 417 killed and two thousand and 38 wounded.
293 men, 201 women, 22 girls and 40 boys, as well as 59 children and 802 adults whose sex is not known yet have been killed by Russian attacks in Ukraine. Meanwhile, 241 men, 187 women, 41 girls and 38 boys, as well as 92 children and a thousand and 439 adults whose sex is not yet known.
The UN says the majority of registered civilian victims were caused by the use of explosive weapons with a wide area of influence, including grants from heavy artillery and numerous launching missile systems, as well as missile attacks.
O The HCHR believes the current figures are markedly higher, as receiving information from some countries where intense hostility has occurred has been delayed and many reports are still pending confirmation. This refers, for example, to Mariupol and Volnovakha (Donetsk region), Izium (Kharkiv region), Ppasna (Lukansk region), and Irpin (Kiev region), where there are claims of numerous civilian victims.
