Zelenskyy: I'm ready for negotiations with Putin.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky says he is ready for negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but warned that failure to reach an agreement would mean “that this is a Third World War”. “I think that without negotiations, we cannot end this fight”, he said of the television network CNN, [...]
I think without negotiations, we can't end this fight”, he told the television network. CNN, in an interview aired Sunday.
Mr. Zelensky has called for comprehensive peace talks with Moscow, thanks to which he said territorial integrity would be restored and justice secured for Ukraine. Mr. Zelensky's appeal for another round of talks came a day after Russia's chief negotiator said the parties have drawn closer to the agreement regarding the issue of giving up Ukraine from its goal to join NATO. But Ukrainian negotiator Mykhailo Podolyak wrote on Twitter that Kiev's positions are unchanged, citing the call for ceasefire, withdrawal of Russian troops and strong security guarantees, coupled with a concrete formula.
Mr. Zelensky told CNN that Russian forces entered Ukraine: “to wipe us out, killed”, but he said Ukraine would not give up its sovereignty or integrity.
The Russians killed our children. We can't get back to what happened. You can't ask Ukraine to recognize some territories as independent republics. These compromises are simply wrong”, said Mr. Zelensky.
Moscow refers to its actions in Ukraine as a special operation to weaken its southern neighbour's military capabilities and strike down what it calls dangerous nationalists. / VOA/
