“Appointments continue and, as I have been informed, positions during negotiations already seem more realistic. But it still takes time for decisions in the interest of Ukraine”, Zelensky said in an early video update Wednesday morning.
“Need still effort, patience is required. Each war ends with a” deal, he added.
Even Ukrainian negotiator Mykhailo Podolyak, the president's adviser, has said there are fundamental contradictions between the two sides, but has added that “certainly has space for compromise”.
Another Zelensky arm, Ihor Zovka, has said negotiations have become more constructive and that Russia has eased its stance by no longer demanding Ukraine surrender.
The talks are set to continue with the video link Wednesday.
