There have been <x0-positive developments” in ongoing negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian officials, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“There are some positive changes there, as negotiators on our part have informed me”, Putin told Belarusian leader Alexander Lukaschenko during a meeting in Moscow.
There have been three rounds of negotiations between the negotiating teams of the two parties on the Ukraine-Belarus border, and on Thursday the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Russia met for talks in Turkey.
However, there have been no concrete results from the talks so far.
Putin also addressed the issue of sanctions against Russia, suggesting they could have a positive effect on the country.
“These are times of opportunity to move towards strengthening our economic and technological sovereignty” he said, writes the BBC.
