MPs from the Environment, Food, Agriculture, Planning and Development Commission have been discussing today's energy and sugar-added drinks.
Chairman of this Victory Pacolli Commission has spoken on this subject.
Pacolli said in an interview at the special edition in Klan Kosova that it is seen as necessary to regulate these beverages.
That is because, according to her, is to preserve the health of the population in Kosovo.
“Power jobs are sold in the vicinity of schools. We have many cases when children in long rest buy energy drinks and consume them too much. We don't have any study that shows how much children consume it. But I did a study in 2016 and 2017 when the Vetevendosje Movement ruled in Pristina we made health visits to schools”.
“anyway in first, fifth and ninth grade. And in the first grade, we see that children with obesity are 10 to 11 percent. Children with outstanding obesity amount to up to 13 percent. If we compare it to the ninth grade it's slightly lower 9 to 10 percent”.
This means that young children have begun to be exposed to these drinks and malnutrition. The overweight children don't eat much. Children get overweight because they eat food and drink unhealthy):
So we're going to have to build a healthy society where we're going to need to spend less time treating diseases that are caused by malnutrition we think we should first prevent”.
