United Kingdom Spy Chief China: Beware of Close Ties With Russia

The head of the U.K. spying agency, Sir Jeremy Fleming, has warned China of the dangers of being on a very close line with Russia.

In a speech in Australia, he said China's long-term interests are not being well served by an alliance with a country that ignores “international road rules”.

Until he said the Kremlin sees China as a market for its oil and gas and a way to bypass sanctions, China has not condemned the invasion of Ukraine and for that Sir Jeremy said Xi would not want to do anything that could limit his future actions.
