About 3,500 Ukrainian teachers have applied for work in Polish schools so far, the education minister said.
The Polish educational system is overloaded by thousands of Ukrainian school students. Despite minor cultural differences, refugees must adapt to the Polish system, possibly with the help of Ukrainian teachers.
“About 3,500 teachers have completed the form so far, expressing their readiness... to care for Ukrainian children in the Polish or Ukrainian system,” said Przemyslaw Czarnek at a press conference Wednesday.
Czarnek said 150,000 Ukrainian children are already attending Polish schools.
The huge majority of them are children enrolled in primary schools, more than 20,000 are garden children, and the rest are registered in secondary education schools”, he said.
However, most Ukrainian children who have crossed the Polish border since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24th have not yet registered in Polish schools, with some continuing to attend their Ukrainian online schools, broadcasting PAP.
