Amid strict security, Blinken and Kuleba held talks at a tent on the border. Ukrainian top diplomat said Ukraine needs fighter aircraft and air defence systems.
The whole world stays with Ukraine, just like I'm here in Ukraine with my friend, my colleague,”, Blinken said.
And the Ukrainian top diplomat said that” I hope the people of Ukraine will be able to see this as a clear manifestation that we have friends who literally stand by us. ”
The two discussed securing weapons for Ukraine and campaigning to isolate Russia internationally and to damage its economy by sanctions, Kuleba said, Reuters writes.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister said Ukraine would win its fight with Russia eventually, he said, but its international supporters should offer more help to end the conflict sooner.
“Ukrainian needs especially fighter aircraft and air defence systems, he said, adding that Stinger anti-aircraft weapons provided by Western countries are helping. Ukrainian forces crashed three Russian planes on Saturday. If they keep offering us the necessary weapons, the price will be lower. This will save many lives”, he said.
Kuleba said he saw no progress in talks with Russia on a ceasefire being held on Ukraine's border with Belarus, but “we must continue to talk”.
