A male was caught stealing from houses abandoned by the terrified population as a result of the war with Russia.
The thief, who appears to be a young man, was photographed standing tied for a pole near a gas station in Kiev after being seized by local residents.
His trousers are down to his knees as local residents set him as an example to others.
A police vehicle is seen nearby, but it is unknown if it is there to release it or increase its sentence after his act.
