Sali Berisha says no decision on exclusion from parliamentary group

Albania's former prime minister, Sali Berisha, has said the decision claiming Enkeleed Alibeaj for exclusion from the parliamentary group does not exist.

The decision that Mr. Alibeaj claims is nul and voy and does not exist. This is the position based on all domestic and DP laws. That is all, and that is my position”, Berisha said, following the parliamentary group's meeting.

As for the question of whether he will step back for the sake of unity, Berisha answered by saying: It's like comparing the winner to the loser. I think it's a big mistake.

According to Berisha, the DP parliamentary group will have meetings and discuss.

The group is the DP legislative body that will debate everything. I think it's a unique case for the DP to join in its diversity. There is a diversity which makes the DP” even more democratic, Berisha said.

Berisha said Alibeaj is simply chairman of the parliamentary group.

I don't mean Alibeaj is the group. He's the leader of the group until the whole problem clears up. We are in a process, and in the process it can stand as chairman”, he said.

As for Lulzim Basha, Berisha said that “he is a member of the parliamentary group we do not exclude”.

Berisha said it does not matter what his office will be.

There's no mayor's office now, there's no mayor here, there's the office. Here the mayor is elected, she becomes presidential office”, Berisha said. /tvclean.al/
